The Scream Chamber Haunted Attraction is searching for professional performers and staff members to fill a variety of positions. We have many exciting goals to meet and changes to make before our next event. We are looking for a team of energetic, hardworking, reliable individuals to help us meet these goals and bring the screams to Athens, TN.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL POSITIONS

• Must be able to deliver 100% customer service at all times while dealing with scared / excited customers.
• Must be friendly, courteous, and outgoing to all customers from time of arrival to time of leaving the show.
• Must be honest, hardworking, and have reliable transportation.
• Must be 16 years of age.
• Ability to communicate professionally.
• Must have good attitude and overall willingness to help.
• Ability to walk / stand for 4-6 hours.
• Must be able to work nontraditional hours to include evenings, weekends and Halloween.
• Ability to adapt to a constant fast pace work environment and thrive in a team setting.
• MUST BE COMPLETELY DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE.

HAUNT ACTORS:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Entertain the guest from ticket purchase until they exit the show.
• Dress up in costume / makeup and portray particular characters in a defined way.
• Strong ability to get into and stay in character.
• Willingness to learn how to apply ones own makeup.
• Ensure guest safety by monitoring their experience as they move through the attraction.
• Cleaning duties could include vacuuming, sweeping, and cleaning up your area nightly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in dark confined spaces.
• No allergies to makeup.
• Must have ability to move quickly.
• Ability to stand / walk for periods of time.
• Must be able to speak loudly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 16.
• Must have a strong desire to scare the yell out of people.
• Must be mature / responsible.
• Must be easygoing, personable and willing to work as a team with others.
• Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and on Halloween.
• Ability to listen to others, take direction, and constructive criticism.

GUIDES:

Job Summary: We are looking for enthusiastic talent to be our guides. Guides will be responsible for leading our guests on their adventure through the attraction while maintaining a steady flow of traffic through the attraction, never allowing one group to catch the next.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ability to learn scripts and perform for the guests.
• Entertain the guests from ticket purchase until they exit the show.
• Dress up in costume and makeup.
• Willingness to learn to apply ones own makeup.
• Ensure guests safety by monitoring their experience as they move through the attraction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in dark and confined spaces.

PARKING ATTENDANT / CROWD CONTROL

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Safely direct traffic in and out of parking areas.
• Report any misconduct or suspicious behavior to management immediately.
• Maintain the highest level of safety for our guests while at the attraction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Stand for periods of 6-8 hours.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

TICKET BOOTH / CONCESSIONS

Ticket sales / concessions are the first point of contact for most of our guests wishing to enter the attraction.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the set-up / breakdown and cleanup of the concession stand nightly.
• Serving prepared food as well as interacting with our guests.
• Handling hot foods while dealing directly with our customers.
• Proficiency in cash handling.
• Ability to handle high levels of point of sale processing.
• Must be energetic, courteous and professional.
• Ability to retain information pertaining to The Scream Chambers promotions, special events, and discounts that affect ticket pricing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to smile and greet customers effectively at all times.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for periods of 6-8 hours.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

PREFERRED QUALITIES:

• Must have strong honest work ethic.
• Zero to two years of experience in sales / food background.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with customers in a friendly manner.

MAKEUP ARTIST

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the crew nightly to quickly and effectively apply special effects makeup to the actors.

PREFERRED QUALITIES:

• Experience is required. Applicant must have experience and a portfolio to show their work.
• Applicant must be an experienced artist in special effects / makeup who can work with latex.
• The applicant must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
• This position requires a lot of creativity and a passion for what you do.
• A demonstration may also be required.
